Carrie Miniseries (Season 1) Review by Ryan Balkwill

Plot: A sheltered girl with telekinetic powers is bullied, leading to a horrific, bloody incident due to her domineering mother’s influence.

The Carrie miniseries was Great

Pros: Summer H. Howell was so great as this betrayal of Stephen King’s novel. It gave us enough of intense and terror that send viewers unnerving. I like the modern take of the story involving viral bullying, relentless pressure & casual cruelty of the social media age. It does a good job making you feel sympathy and concern / scared for both Christine, Carietta and Margaret individually. I felt the drama surround high school definitely with all the students. How it successfully gets to the build to the prom and they show the consequences of their action when they cross Carrie & this series works when it thinks drives it point home in the best way possible.

Cons: I wasn’t that much into the many relationship dramas surrounding the students. There were many numerous moments & I don’t why that was not split into a week to week format instead dropping it in one swing.
