Young Sherlock Season 1 Review by Ryan Balkwill

Plot: undisciplined 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) at Oxford, who is framed for murder and sets out to clear his name. Alongside future nemesis James Moriarty, Sherlock uncovers a sprawling conspiracy, a deadly Chinese scroll theft, and dark secrets involving his own family, leading to a dangerous, world-spanning investigation.

Season 1 of Young Sherlock was Very Good.

Pros: The directing direction worked for me. I had fun with the banter chemistry between Sherlock & James Moriarty were fun. Zine Tseng’s Gulun Shou’an was Okay for me. The conspiracy was easy to keep invest myself into. It does pull some twists & turns involving the family dynamics & how much this felt like Guy Ritchie written all over it.

Cons: My only issues were with the pacing being too quick in spots and the way they defeated the villain was climatic.
