Vice TV’s Dark Side of Comedy Documentary Series Review Written by Ryan Balkwill

Genre: Documentary, History

Directed by John Choi, Marshall Jay Kaplan, Michelle Métivier

Narrated by Dave Foley

Network: VICE TV

Plot: Featuring different comics and their personal journeys while exploring the internal battles, unexpected fame, and societal pressures in the comedy world. The creators behind the documentary series “Dark Side of the Ring” are not working on this.

Season 1 of Dark Side of comedy was Good.

Pros: I was impressed by how many famous comedians they have for filling up the 10-episode block. You will hear the new inside tale from everyone who was interviewed for this program. I enjoyed certain episodes more than others and they kept the same level of pacing as the other entire “Dark Side” programs.

Cons: I didn’t like a handful of episodes this season.  A lot of the endings are so sad and people might need to keep this show to consider whether they want to watch this or not.

People interviewed:
