The Ipcress File (TV series) Review by Ryan Balkwill

Genre: Spy thriller

Directed by James Watkins

Producer:  Paul Ritchie

Based on The IPCRESS File by Len Deighton

Starring: Joe Cole, Lucy Boynton & Tom Hollander.

Executive Producers: Will Clarke, Alexander Deighton, Andrew Eaton, John Hodge, Sanford Lieberson, Andy Mayson, Hilary Saltzman, Steven Saltzman & James Watkins.

Production companies: Altitude Television, ITV Studios

Network:  ITV

Plot: As the Cold War rages, former smuggler-turned-reluctant spy Harry Palmer finds himself at the center of a dangerous undercover mission, on which he must use his links to find a missing British nuclear scientist.

The Ipcress File miniseries was alright.

Pros: This show mange to capture the look and feel of being in the 60s period of Britain. Joe Cole did a really good job stepping in the shoes into Michael Caine old role. The full series can get very intense at times & I had enjoying myself watching the show.

Cons: The full 6 episodes were too stretched out that ruined my enjoyment of this show. I didn’t get the dialogue that much & I feel the plot can get muddle sometimes.

Casts:

I might recommend watching this show to people who have a Sky Box at home so can catch up with this.

Rating: 6 out of 10 Stars
