The plot: After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers. Their new friend, April O’Neil, helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

This new TMNT movie was great.

Pros: I liked how it focused on the theme of this film of “How to fitting being a mutant”. Most of all the mutants were really well depicted including the turtles themselves being teenagers. The animation does remind me like into the spider-verse. There’s a lot of pop culture references and there was no shredder in this movie.

Cons: I was not a fan of splinter’s new origin. A lot of the side characters didn’t get that much to do and they didn’t use the classic theme song.

The Casts:

The character Scumbug, a mutant insect, appears in the film where he is credited under “himself”.

I highly recommend watching this film.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
