In Memory of Don West (Wrestling) (1963-2022) Written by Ryan Balkwill (Update)

Dear Don, Thank You for a all time ever since watching you doing commentary for TNA Impact! / Impact Wrestling on my television screen.

Donald West (June 20, 1963 – December 30, 2022) was an American pitchman, television personality and professional wrestling broadcaster known for appearing on Impact Wrestling as a commentator. West previously worked as a host for the Shop at Home Network. In the 1990s, West achieved a degree of fame for his loud, energetic, abrasive sales pitches on late night television, and his blunt obvious observations, with his persuasive style.

My best memories of the man, Is his high association and excitement level he shown on camera every week and for the time I manged to get one of his Brown Bag Special at the ShopTNA backstage area or when we it was delivered to us when we was siting down in the audience.

Or the time I played as him on my old PSP Console version of the TNA Impact! Cross The Line Video Game.

Personal life and death:

West was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Purdue University, where he majored in sports broadcasting.

West was married to his wife Terri from July 18, 1992, until his death in 2022. On June 16, 2021, West announced that he had been diagnosed with a lymphoma of the brain, and began treatment.” On December 30, 2022, Mike Tenay confirmed that West had died from lymphoma at the age of 59.

WWE commentator Michael Cole paid tribute to him on that evening’s SmackDown show and a tribute to him was displayed on that evening’s AEW Rampage.
