The plot: Retired widow Nancy Stokes hires a good-looking young sex worker called Leo Grande, in the hope of enjoying a night of pleasure and self-discovery after an unfulfilling married life.

This film was Alright.

Pros: I like how this movie addressed the issue of being comfortable in your skin before sex. The film doesn’t shy away from discussing sex and orgasm a lot throughout. Emma Thompson did well playing an abominable widow and also I like how much I hold my composure throughout listening to both Nancy and Leo having discussions in one setting.

Cons: I wasn’t feeling the energy of this film at all. There wasn’t a lot of sex and I wish the movie was longer.

The Casts:

  • Emma Thompson as Nancy Stokes / Susan Robinson
  • Daryl McCormack as Leo Grande / Connor
  • Isabella Laughland as Becky
  • Charlotte Ware as waitress 1
  • Carina Lopes as waitress 2

I still recommend watching this film where ever you can find it anywhere.

Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars
