The plot: Wendy Darling, a young girl looking to avoid boarding school, meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Wendy, her brothers, and Tinker Bell travel with Peter to the magical world of Neverland, where she encounters an evil pirate captain.

This new peter pan movie was both good and bad at the same time.

Pros: I did like that they skipped through the beginning to straight to Neverland. Wendy and Tiger Lily had more time to get developed in this interpretation. It did try to deliver some new ideas to this version and race bending didn’t bother me. I don’t believe there was  too much negativity towards this film.

What a shame this one was not in cinemas.

Cons: It didn’t explain why their girls joined the lost boys. Alexander Molony was miscast as Peter Pan in my opinion. Most of the acting were half-bad. Jim Gaffigan was bad as Mr. Smee. John and Michael Darling respectively were nothing new added to the story. and the look of this film does look grimy. The final confrontation didn’t have a fitting conclusion between Peter and Hook.

The Casts:

I would recommend giving this new Peter Pan Movie a Chance which is only available on Disney+.

Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars
