The plot: Bestowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with their adult superhero alter egos. When a vengeful trio of ancient gods arrives on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago, Shazam and his allies get thrust into a battle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of the world.

I was so looking forward to this film.

The Shazam Sequel was quite good.

Pros: I liked how they gave the rest of the Shazam family more to do. Freddy gave a lot of the best fun moments. The sequel still keeps the same hopeful energy like the last film. I like the bond between Anthea and Freddy. I didn’t see the Wonder Woman cameos coming and they were a good surprise & you get more of the adult hero’s this time around.

Cons: The baddies in this sequel Hespera & Kalpso played by Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu respectfully were a disappointment.  And Having Djimon Hounsou’s Wizard was unnecessary and was just a back ground character. I wasn’t feeling that much enthusiasm regarding Billy Batson this time around, and at times the film did not catch the magic, like the original film.

The Casts:

  • Marta Milans as Rosa Vásquez: The foster mother of Billy and his siblings.
  • Cooper Andrews as Víctor Vásquez: The foster father of Billy and his siblings.

I recommend watching this sequel to anyone who liked the first film.

Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars
