The plot: Singer Amy Winehouse’s tumultuous relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil inspires her to write and record the groundbreaking album “Back to Black.”
The Back to Black Movie was both Good & Bad.
Pros: Marisa Abela was Perfect casting as Amy Winehouse. I like how the film dedicated a lot to the relationship between Amy and Blake. Eddie Marsan looks just like Amy’s father Mitch. It captured how jazz influenced Amy throughout her ambition to sing & it got emotional & heart-wrenching the movie can get at times.
Cons: There were no signs of Pete Doherty anywhere near this movie. There were moments in the film they skipped through a lot & sadly I don’t put this one right up there next to biopics like “Rocketman” “Fighting With My Family” “Bohemian Rhapsody” & “The Iron Claw”.
Those pesty paps.
