The plot: Barbie and Ken are having the time of their lives in the colorful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.

I was looking forward to this movie.

The Barbie Movie was so good.

Pros: I loved the costume & set designs for this movie. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are so superb together the chemistry between was so good. It had a lot to say about feminism, the meaning of change and “Finding your own identity”. I enjoyed the happy tone of this film and the final few moments was not what I was expecting.

I was amazed to see how many young girls showed up wearing pink to support this film.

Cons: Will Ferrell was really weak as the antagonist. At times they do overdo the messaging a little bit. Seeing the colour pink did made me uneasy and almost put me off this film entirely. This film might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

The Casts:

I highly recommend watching this film in cinemas.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars
