Plot: Platonic former best friends approaching midlife reconnect after a long rift; the duo’s friendship becomes more consuming and destabilizes their lives.

I was looking forward for this new series.

Season 1 of Platonic was Okay.

Pros: Seeing both Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne together again and as well I enjoy their antics. This series felt warn & easy to watch a new episode each week and the ending was satisfying.

Cons: A lot of the comedy wasn’t that funny. I couldn’t into the story that much. I lost interest in the middle from the 2nd half and the storyline involved Sylvia’s husband wasn’t that interesting.

Casts & Characters:

Main:

  • Rose Byrne as Sylvia, a stay-at-home mother of three and wife who reconnects with her former best friend, Will
  • Seth Rogen as Will, Sylvia’s former best friend who is recently divorced
  • Luke Macfarlane as Charlie, Sylvia’s husband who is an attorney
  • Tre Hale as Andy, Will’s friend and business partner
  • Andrew Lopez as Reggie, the main investor of Will’s brewery and the stepbrother of his ex-wife, Audrey
  • Carla Gallo as Katie, Sylvia’s best friend who is also a mother

Recurring:

I still recommend giving this series a chance on Apple TV+.

Rating: 6 out of 10 Stars
