Plot: Allison and Deacon are a couple who are desperate for a baby, but they have run out of money to complete any more IVF treatment. They discover their wealthy boss is illegally skimming money off from the company, so they decide he can afford it if they ‘borrow’ £50k from his account. When Deacon accidentally adds an extra nought to the transfer and steals half a million pounds, the pair kick off a downward spiral into the criminal underworld of suburban Britain.
I didn’t like Series 1 of Romantic Gateway that much.
Pros: The main highlight was Johnny Vegas delivering the most laughs. This series went hard with its comedy which did bring me the most enjoyment and both Katherine & Romesh worked well off each other.
Cons: The plot itself didn’t work for me. A lot of the jokes felt brash and false, and the final heist and ending did disappoint me.
