Plot: Adapted from The Amber Spyglass, the last volume of Philip Pullman’s trilogy, season 3 brings the story of Lyra (Dafne Keen) and Will (Amir Wilson) to a dramatic end, as the duo join Asriel and his allies in an epic battle with the Authority.
The last season of his dark materials was quite solid.
Pros: I loved seeing both Lyra and Will and how they ended up at the end was so satisfying. James McAvoy’s character plays a much bigger role this time around. There were so many deaths you felt the emotional weight when they happened and there is a lot of the main storyline moving forward a lot quicker for this last season.
Cons: A lot of the pacing takes too long. It was hard to tell what was going on at times from the dialogue to the lack of lighting. I struggled to keep my self-keeping my eye on what’s going on and a lot of their villains are forgetful.
