Plot: Queen Rhaenyra’s increasingly tyrannical descent into power, the catastrophic Battle of Tumbleton, and the devastating fractures within the Targaryen dynasty as the civil war reaches a bloody tipping point.
Season 3 of House of the Dragon was quite good.
Pros: This season felt more to invest/enjoy than the previous season. The action felt more brutal. Rene has been developed further into the new queen. Aegon was great to see developed over the course. The CG dragons work with the practical new world of Tumbleton. Matt Smith gave his best performance this season. The first two episodes did a good job setting up its sense of danger and intensity for the rest of the season. The dragons had more screen time. & the finale was epic in my opinion.
Cons: Each character wasn’t really defined as good or bad. Ormund was underutilised. There was a lot of cursing that didn’t make sense in each one it’s in, & I didn’t understand what was happening with the side plots of the season.
