The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Review by Ryan Balkwill

Plot: Mario and Luigi meet and befriend Yoshi as they join Princess Peach and Toad on an adventure into outer space and across the galaxy. They meet Rosalina and face off against Bowser and his son, Bowser Jr.

This sequel was a fun blast but also a mess.

Pros: The animation was totally better than the last one. I like the storyline was simple to follow involving the two princesses and the father and son duo of Bowser & Bowser Jr.. It shows off many of the references and characters from a lot of the Nintendo universe. All of the voice cast was superb. It moves in such of a fast pace that it kept me engaged & I’m ending up okay with this one.

Cons: There was a lot of rushing throughout the movie. There wasn’t that much time to breathe. The dynamics from the two princesses felt forced & my major problem was the movie being too quick and it’s storyline is all over the place.

Additionally, Juliet Jelenic, daughter of co-director Michael Jelenic, reprises her role as Lumalee, a nihilistic blue Luma who was held prisoner by Bowser in the previous film and now works as a prison guard, while Ed Skudder voices R.O.B., a robot that works at Gateway Galaxy. Princess Daisy makes a non-speaking cameo in a post-credits scene.

I highly recommend watching this sequel in cinemas.
