The Bride! Movie Review by Ryan Balkwill

Plot: In 1930s Chicago, groundbreaking scientist Dr. Euphronious brings a murdered young woman back to life to be a companion for Frankenstein’s monster. What happens next is beyond what either of them could ever have imagined.

This film was disappointing.

Pros: Jessie Buckley & Christian Bale had good chemistry as both Ida and Frank prospectively. I like the prosthetics and autograph used in this film. Some of the editing was fine. The was a attempt to tie her past to Det. Jake Wiles and I Kmart out feeling I just watched a shorter movie.

Cons: The story was all over the place. It didn’t nose the film wants us to feel any sympathy what’s ever happening to the bride. I find Jake Gyllenhaal and Penélope Cruz roles was totally pointless. At times I was unsettled and gross out watching it and the ending doesn’t leave me with any satisfaction.
