Cross Season 1 (2024) Review by Ryan Balkwill

Plot: DC homicide detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross (Aldis Hodge) as he tackles personal grief and a sadistic serial killer known as the “Fanboy.” Alongside partner John Sampson, Cross pursues Ed Ramsey (Ryan Eggold), a manipulative elite obsessed with mimicking infamous serial killers.

Season 1 of cross was good.

Pros: I like now it goes fully into its homicide detective storyline . It was very heavy on its two plotlines involving two different serial killers. Ed Ramsey was a ruthless villain. It’s balanced of action and police procedure was on point. Aldis Hodge really worked as Alex Cross and he’s chemistry with Isaiah Mustafa’s John Sampson & it delivered on the twists and turns that surprised me.

Cons: It the Ed Ramsey storyline did drag too much into this season run. The dialogue was a bit simplistic at times. It can be heavy-handed with it messaging. I got serious with police constant mistakes/decisions makings & plenty of trademarks of this pacific genre.
