A Minecraft Movie Movie Review by Ryan Balkwill

The plot: A mysterious portal pulls four misfits into the Overworld, a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master the terrain while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected crafter named Steve.

This Minecraft movie was fun but not perfect.

Pros: It’s OK I kept my expectation low before seeing this film. I did appreciate a lot of the creativity of the weapons and how they used building blocks to imagine everything you can think of. A lot of it was fast paced to enjoy watching. I enjoy the fun interactions between Garrett & Steve & a lot of the performances try to not take everything going on seriously.

Cons: A lot of the development was rushed. The dating romance was stupid. The human characters were one dimensional and boring. It’s fails to deliver a memorable story. Malgosha was not a good villain & the whole film wasn’t for me.
