The Penguin Review (Spoiler Free) Written by Ryan Balkwill

Plot: The transformation of Oswald Cobblepot from a disfigured nobody to a noted Gotham gangster.

This penguin series was great.

Pros: Colin Farrell is still looking unrecognisable as Oswald. I like that we get more from this world from the batman movie. This show is so good staying consistent with its story telling. I enjoy the relationship between Oz and Victor throughout. Most of the cast was incredible. Sofia was an unbelievable opponent for Oz and the finale was shocking and intense.

Cons: The only problem was involving the misuse of the Salvatore character.

Casts & Characters:

Main

  • Colin Farrell as Oswald “Oz” Cobb / The Penguin:
The disfigured former chief lieutenant of deceased
crime boss Carmine Falcone who is on the rise to becoming a criminal kingpin in his own right.

  • Rhenzy Feliz as Victor “Vic” Aguilar:
A homeless teenager who becomes Oz’s driver and personal enforcer. Victor’s characterization incorporates elements from that of
Jason Todd, the second character to assume the persona of Batman‘s sidekick Robin, although he is not a direct adaptation.
  • Deirdre O’Connell as Francis Cobb: Oz’s mother who suffers from Parkinson’s and Lewy Body dementia.
